Could a familiar face be about to stage a return to Firehouse 51? That’s certainly a possibility given the new information teased in the synopsis for the January 28 episode of Chicago Fire!
A newly released synopsis for Chicago Fire season 14, episode 11, “Frostbite Blue,” reveals that Firehouse 51 will get a visitor. That’s the full extent of the tease, and it’s the vagueness of the item that seems to hint that we could see a surprise guest dropping in. There’s really no reason to tease that Firehouse 51 gets a visitor when guest characters pop in randomly, so the synopsis directly referencing the visitor makes us believe that this is going to be a more notable return.
There are a lot of possibilities as to who could pop up, but fans’ minds are likely to go right to former characters.
We have seen a number of characters drop in following their initial exits, most notably with special appearances from Matt Casey and Chief Boden in recent years. Could it be that we’re going to see a former member of the 51 family dropping in to surprise their former team members?
We haven’t had any big returns this season and with the halfway point of the season fast approaching, it would be nice to get a surprise visitor. There are so many characters we’d love to catch up with including several characters who exited earlier this season.
Maybe Carver, Damon, or Ritter will drop in for a surprise visit to give us an update on how things have been since they left Firehouse 51 earlier this year. A return from Damon and Ritter would make the most sense given that Carver left town to get a fresh start and has also cut off communication with Violet as part of those efforts, so a return would seem like a step back for the character and the exit storyline the writers laid out for him.
Damon remains in Chicago working within the CFD, so it would be nice to see him drop in for a guest appearance, especially amid everything Severide has been going through. We know that Damon and Severide aren’t exactly the closest siblings, but it would be nice to see Damon drop by to check on Severide with everything going on with Van Meter. It would also be nice to see Ritter back for an episode to give us an update on how things are going with Dwayne in New York. Ritter’s exit was so abrupt that we’d love to know how he’s faring in the big city and how his relationship has progressed.
Of course, there are also legacy characters such as Casey, Boden, and Brett who we always love to see stop by. It’s always fun when characters who were so crucial to the show pop in for a guest appearance. Given everything going on within the CFD, it would be nice to see Boden make an appearance in support of Firehouse 51 or perhaps to help Mouch in fighting his ongoing battle to save his job amid the cuts.
It’s going to be interesting to see who this surprise visitor ends up being, but we’re hoping the tease will pay off in a fun way!
