The countdown is officially on to the One Chicago reunion that has been years in the making! Halstead and Upton are making their triumphant returns, and we finally have photos!
Since NBC dropped the news that Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos would be reprising their fan-favorite characters for the first time since each actor left Chicago PD seasons ago, fans have been foaming at the mouth for any and all information about their joint comeback in the 2026 edition of the semi-annual One Chicago crossover event.
We have seen Halstead and Upton back in action in a limited capacity in the trailers for the three-episode crossover, but we're now getting a better look at what they will be getting up to across the event. NBC finally released photos from all three parts of "The Reckoning," teasing Upstead's appearances in Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD.
Back at their old stomping grounds, Soffer and Spiridakos appear in a photo from Chicago PD's episode from the event, the third and final episode, reuniting with former co-stars and new faces to the series. Halstead and Upton team up once again with Voight (Jason Beghe), Burgess (Marina Squerciati), and Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins). While Upton worked with Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar), it's both Upton and Halstead's first time meeting Imani (Arienne Mandi).
Our next Upstead crossover tease comes from Chicago Med, as Lenox seemingly patches up a minor head wound Upton has sustained during the high-stakes case. She sits on the edge of a firetruck as Lenox works her magic and Halstead looks on close by. In other photos from the crossover, a light scratch on Upton's forehead can be seen, but we'll have to wait and see how she gets it!
In another angle from the same photo, we get a better look at Halstead looking on as Upton receives medical attention from Lenox. I have to say, as a long-time fan of the franchise, it's exciting to see veterans come back and mingle with the newer faces who are continuing to breathe new life into the universe. That's one of my favorite parts of the crossover events and surprise character returns!
Speaking of seeing veteran characters connecting with new characters from across the franchise, Upton appears in a photo from the Chicago Fire episode, which opens the crossover event. She stands with Chief Pascal, looking in concern at something ahead. Based on other photos from the Chicago Fire episode, they appear to be on a tarmac investigating an airplane.
Concluding the first-look photo preview with a real bang, we see Upton in the Chicago PD episode entering a home with her FBI team, gun in hand. It's a real pinch-me moment for fans who have been keeping their fingers crossed that she would come back to the franchise. Here she is doing what she does best! And isn't it just an added bonus that she's returning with Halstead, too?
Even though we can see it for ourselves, it's still almost unbelievable that Halstead and Upton are actually back for the One Chicago crossover. We'll still have to wait and see what the status of their relationship is these days, but given how busy all they will be with the case along with all of Chicago's first responders, an update on their romance (or lack thereof) might not be of utmost importance.
