This one was unexpected. Darryl Reid (Malik Yoba) was another one of Reagan's ex-partners, but his career ended after he was caught planting evidence on a suspect. The incident happened in season 6, meaning its been nearly a decade since the two men interacted.

Reid will play a pivotal role in the season 14 premiere, "Loyalty", meaning we will have two consecutive instances of Reagan's old partners helping him out with a case. We'll be curious to see if this is a trend that continues throughout the rest of the season.
