7. Kim Burgess and Blair Williams

This one came and went in record time. Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) agreed to go on a date with Blair Williams, a man working on the mayoral campaign for Brian Kelton (John C. McGinley), but when he didn't show up for the date, she became concerned. Come to find out, Williams had been shot, and Burgess attempts to get him to the hospital. He dies on the way there.

Williams was not an inherently despicable guy, but his character was introduced and established in such a way that we knew something was going to go wrong. We never got a chance to buy into the romance with Burgess, and as such, this feels like filler that we are meant to take more seriously.
