9-1-1: Lone Star is back. Well, at least its on its way. The first responder drama dropped the first teaser for season 5, and it looks like fans will be treated to more shocking revelations and cases than ever.

Despite only being 30 seconds, the FOX promo for 9-1-1: Lone Star showcases plenty of exciting moments. We get to see an oil tanker tip over, and the first responders kicking into overdrive to ensure that nearby civilians are safe.

We also see one of the firefighters dodge a massive explosion brought about by said oil tanker (at, least it looks that way). We don't think anybody is going to die from the incident, but it certainly looks like Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) and company have a rough day on the job.

The glimpses we get post-explosion are arguably the most intriguing. It appears as though somebody is making a bomb in an undisclosed location. This theory is supported by a second explosion.

The 9-1-1: Lone Star team might be looking at a repeat attacker, which prompts Owen Strand to deliver some appropriately dramatic dialogue. "This is the end?," he rhetorically asks one of his team members. "This is just the opening act."

Rob Lowe promised fans more "spectacle" in season 5

The teaser confirms that the show will be returning this fall, but doesn't provide an exact date. Rob Lowe talked about the upcoming season during a recent interview with TV Insider, and he promised fans more spectacle than seasons prior:

"I’m just really excited about the spectacle. I’m really excited about the scope and scale of what we’re able to do while also still taking care of the characters everybody loves."

Lowe asserted that this emphasis on spectacle will not get in the way of the show's drama, however. In fact, drama is one of the things that first drew him to the show. "One of the things I love about the show is that you can do something that fraught with drama," he noted. "And then you can also do the exhilarating rescues."

We can't wait for more of both.
