Chicago Fire adds Rome Flynn to season 12 cast
Chicago Fire may be losing some familiar faces, but its making up for it by adding new ones. The firefighting drama has confirmed that it will be adding Rome Flynn to the main cast in season 12, presumably to make up for the exit of veteran Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende).
Deadline reports that Flynn will play a character named Jake Gibson, who earns a spot on the 51 truck due to a heroic act. The specifics of the act are being kept under wraps, but the outlet did add that Gibson is a former amateur boxer who has a tragic past.

Flynn will look familiar to those who have spent the last decade watching primetime TV. The actor broke out in a big way on the thriller series How to Get Away with Murder (2014-20), where he played law student Gabriel Maddox.
Prior to How to Get Away with Murder, Flynn was featured prominently on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, where he played Zende and won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2018. Flynn has also dabbled in procedural television, with guest roles in shows like The Rookie, NCIS: New Orleans, and Grey's Anatomy.

During a 2020 interview with Pop Culturist, Flynn reflected on his rapidly evolving career and spoke on the things that bring him joy as a performer. He told the outlet that finding different characters to play, and discovering what makes each of them tick, is number one on his list:
""Every show that I’ve worked on has brought some sort of enlightenment. It’s a journey. Every time I go and play another character, I always leave it feeling like I gained something.""
In addition to being an actor, Flynn is a musician. He released his debut single, "Brand New", in 2019, and has also featured on songs like Elijah Blake and Will Gittens. His latest release, "Slide", came out in 2022.
Flynn is represented by Greene Talent, Weiner Management and Meyer & Downs.
