Chicago Fire preview: What to expect in season 12, episode 3
Despite Brett leaving Firehouse 51 soon, we’re still getting some Brett-heavy storylines. That’s certainly the case for Chicago Fire season 12, episode 3.
During the previous episode, Brett had more of a lighter storyline. Her story brought us the comedic relief that we needed between Mouch looking to change his legacy at the firehouse, Kylie being in trouble, and Herrmann clearly struggling after the previous episode.
Now it looks like the tables will turn. Brett is the one in a perilous situation.
What to expect in Chicago Fire season 12, episode 3
NBC hasn’t released a synopsis for the episode at the time of writing this. It makes it hard to tell what type of storylines we’ll see throughout the episode as the promo only focuses on one. We’re sure to get more about Herrmann, who is losing his hearing after that bomb blast.
We found out that he’ll need to wear hearing aids to remain on the job. However, eventually, he may not hear enough to keep being a firefighter. What does that mean for his position at work?

We could also see more of Cruz’s storyline. At the end of the previous episode, Severide made it clear that Cruz is open to climb the leadership pole. Will Cruz end up doing that? Is it time for him to take his lieutenants exam?
However, the focus for Chicago Fire season 12, episode 3 is certainly on Brett and Violet. The two are at a diner when Brett sees a woman asking for help. Brett and Violet decide to follow the car that she gets in, realizing that it’s a potential abduction. This is sure to bring some characters from Chicago PD in as it looks like it could involve some sort of human trafficking storyline.
