One Chicago has employed so many good actors over the years that it's almost bizarre to not see them pop up in other shows. Especially if the shows in question are produced by Dick Wolf. The titan of procedural television loves to use the same faces, and Colin Donnell is the latest star to double dip on different networks.

Chicago Med fans know and love Donnell as Dr. Connor Rhodes, but People Magazine has confirmed that the actor will be strapping up to play one of the main characters on FBI: International. Little has been said about Donnell's character, or how he will factor into the show, but given the departure of Luke Kleintank's Special Agent, it's safe to assume the actor will be carrying a badge.

FBI: International will be the first show Donnell has booked since leaving Chicago Med in 2019. The actor told Us Weekly that he left the medical drama due to creative differences, but holds no ill will towards the showrunners or the cast. In fact, he was effusive in his praise for the writers because they allowed his character to leave on his "own" terms after four seasons.

"I’m really very happy and thankful to [Med] that they gave me the exit that they did. He left on his own terms, which I thought was really lovely for the character and for me personally."

Donnell will appear in the final two episodes of season 3. His timing could not have been better, as the procedural drama was just renewed for another season by CBS. Amy Reisenbach, the president of CBS Entertainment, issued a statement praising the show and its creators.

"Dick Wolf and the talent in front of and behind the camera on all three series continue to deliver top-notch storytelling," Reisenbach wrote. "[As well as] riveting action and intrigue that has captivated a dedicated fanbase steadily across multiple seasons." She also noted how important the show and the FBI franchise as a whole is to the network's lineup:

"The All-FBI Tuesday is a powerful force to be reckoned with on our primetime schedule. We are excited to see what next season holds for all these heroic characters."
