Chicago PD's newest cast member is actually a One Chicago veteran

Toya Turner is going to make a splash in Chicago PD season 12. The actress has been cast as Yara Page, a patrol officer who will make an impression on Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and the rest of the IU. She will effectively be filling the role left behind by Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), which is an admittedly huge task.

That being said, Turner knows what she's getting herself into. The actress actually has a track record with the One Chicago franchise that dates back to 2014. When Turner debuts on Chicago PD, it will actually be the third One Chicago show that she's appeared on, making her one of the few actors to pull the feat off with three different characters.

Toya Turner has credits on all current One Chicago shows

Toya Turner appeared on the Chicago Fire episode "Tonight's the Night" in 2014. She played a character with the highly memorable name of "Peaches the Prostitute," and despite not having a ton of screen time, she impressed producers enough to land a second, unrelated role on the Chicago Med episode "Soul Care" in 2016.

Once again, Turner had a minor supporting role as a woman named Jayna Miles. Limited screen time, but she once again stuck out to Dick Wolf and his production team. Wolf has a track record of using actors that he likes over and over again, and Turner was primed for something bigger.

The actress recently had a guest spot on Grey's Anatomy

Yara Page represents that something. The character will be a series regular throughout Chicago PD's upcoming season, and the way TV Line describes her-- fearless, confident in the field-- has us eager to see how she blends with the established IU lineup.

Outside of One Chicago, Toya Turner has accrued quite the TV resume. She's best known for her role on Warrior Nun (2020), but she also had standout turns on the shows New Amsterdam (2022-23) and Grey's Anatomy (2023). She's also slated to appear in an upcoming TV movie from Lena Waithe.
