Doctor Odyssey lands the Queen of Country Pop in a guest star role

As we roll into fall, we’re starting to get trailers for the new and returning shows. The trailer for the new Ryan Murphy medical drama Doctor Odyssey is here, and we couldn’t be more excited. Okay, maybe we are a little more excited because Shania Twain will guest star.

A rocket scientist doesn’t impress her much, but what about the doctor of a luxury cruise liner? That’s something we’ll need to find out.

Shaina Twain’s character details on Doctor Odyssey haven’t been revealed yet

In some bad news, we have no idea who Shania Twain will play. It is possible that she will play herself, which will be a great way to start off the season. It wouldn’t be the first time Murphy’s dramas have brought real-life people into the story. 911 brought in a Bachelor crossover during the seventh season.

What we do get to see is Twain dancing with Don Jonson, who will take on the role of the Captain of the Odyssey. While the doctor of the luxury liner may not impress her, maybe being the Captain of the Odyssey will.

In Doctor Odyssey, Joshua Jackson takes on the role of Dr. Max Bankman, the new doctor on board The Odyssey. Jonson’s captain makes it clear that the ship is “Heaven,” and that needs to be preserved at all costs. While Max is ready for that, he will need to do it while saving lives.

The trailer gives us a look at some of the saves that will need to happen, including one cruiser falling overboard in the middle of the night. It will be up to the liner’s crew to head out and find him so that Max can do his job. They’ll need to deal with one unique medical crisis after another while miles away from the shore.
