Chicago PD's Jesse Lee Soffer shares first look at his FBI: International character

We might not be getting Jesse Lee Soffer back on Chicago PD in the fall, but thanks to CBS fans can once again look forward to having Soffer back in primetime! Earlier this summer, Soffer officially joined the cast of CBS’s hit drama FBI: International, stepping in as the new face of the series following the departure of Luke Kleintank after two seasons as the lead of the show. 

Soffer will be joining the show as a series regular, marking a return to the world of Wolf Entertainment albeit it outside the One Chicago bubble – though the two franchises are technically connected. 

Rather than reprising his role of Jay Halstead, Soffer will be playing Supervisory Special Agent Wesley “Wes” Mitchell, a “charming and rakish agent whose impeccable instincts and unconventional tactics fuel his drive to stop at nothing to achieve justice.” 

With the fall season fast approaching, the casts and crews of all of our favorite shows are hard at work including the FBI: International team who are currently filming overseas. And while we might have to wait a bit before we get our first official look at Wes in action on the show, Soffer has offered up our first look at his character from the set via Instagram!

In a new video shared by Jesse Lee Soffer via Instagram on August 16, Soffer comes to fans from a picturesque international filming location serving as the backdrop for an episode of CBS’s international FBI spinoff. 

“I mean, come on,” Soffer comments on the sunny beachside location serving as the backdrop of the episode, clearly appreciating the breathtaking views of the set. It’s definitely a change of pace from the cold and grey Chicago views Soffer was used to filming Chicago PD, and we too would be awestruck getting to work beachside at the beautiful location the filming team scouted out for the episode currently being worked on. 

Beyond the background, we can see that Soffer is trading in Halstead’s go-to henleys for more business casual attire as he rocks a blue button-down dress shirt and shows off plenty of chest as many fans pointed out. 

With filming now underway on season 4 of CBS’s hit, we should be getting more behind-the-scenes looks at Soffer and his new role. Hopefully, we should soon get the chance to see Soffer with his new costars as the cast begins sharing more content from the set. And with filming now underway, it shouldn’t be long before CBS drops our first promos for the season and gives us the chance to see Soffer’s Agent Wes Mitchell in action before the show’s return this September!
