The hype for the Tony and Ziva spinoff is real. Fans rejoiced when it was announced these NCIS fan favorites would be reuniting in their own show, and the more details that have been revealed, the more intriguing the spinoff sounds.

The actors who play Tony and Ziva, Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, have made it clear that they want to tell a story that stands on its own, while honoring what we know about their characters from their lengthy stints on NCIS. That being said, there are multiple NCIS cast members who have voiced their desire to make a cameo appearance.

Wilmer Valderrama, who currently plays Nick Torres on the main show, told the crowd at the Monte Carlo TV Festival that he'd love to make a quick appearance in the spinoff. He even proposed that Torres do some traveling to deepen the character's experiences.

“I’ve explored so much, I have got to do a lot of good things," Valderrama explained. "But I’d like to maybe have my character be undercover somewhere in Europe, to leave Washington DC and have my character embedded in Italy, France or London." He wasn't the only one who wanted in on the hype of the Tony and Ziva show (which is still untitled).

Brian Dietzen, the man who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer, would also have a blast reuniting with his former NCIS cast mates:

"If they say: 'Hey we need Jimmy Palmer on a plasma screen' at any point, I’d say hell yes, that’d be fun, I’d do that in a heartbeat."

Michael Weatherly said Tony's daughter will play a big role

The jury is still out on whether Valderrama and Dietzen will get their wishes, but Michael Weatherly did tell the Monte Carlo crowd that the spinoff will incorporate a character that NCIS fans have met in the past: Tony and Ziva's daughter, Tali.

According to the actor, the spinoff will be a three-hander between father, mother and daughter. "When you have a child, you have to navigate what is best for them," he explained. "And then maybe you have a co-parent that you have a tumultuous relationship with… and oh, wait, we also have to save the world."
