NCIS is breaking new ground. The show is no stranger to spinoffs set in different places, but the next two releases on the franchise docket will instead focus on established characters. NCIS: Origins will be a prequel focusing on young Gibbs, while NCIS: Tony and Ziva show will focus on, well, Tony (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo).

The latter has started production in Budapest, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It will be set after the events of both characters' respective final appearances on NCIS, and see them juggle an international case with raising a child.

To make matters even more exciting, THR released information on each of the characters that the actors are playing. "The world of Tony and Ziva promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears and laughter," they wrote in a joint statement. We also want to acknowledge and thank the fans from around the world."
