When all is said and done, Jesse Lee Soffer is going to have one of the most interesting careers in One Chicago history. The actor held down a pivotal role on Chicago PD for a decade, and then left the show to join another franchise set in the same universe: FBI.

Soffer was added to the FBI: International cast ahead of season 4. The actor, who has focused on directing since stepping away from PD, will be playing a pivotal role that has yet to be disclosed to the public. What we do know, though, is that it will not be the same character he played on PD. It's a brand new guy. Soffer's co-stars couldn't be more happy for him.

Tracy Spiridakos and LaRoyce Hawkins praised their former co-star

Soffer confirmed the casting news on his Instagram by reposting the Variety story. "Cats out of the bag," he wrote in the caption. "Very excited to join the @FBICBS team! Big thanks to @CBSTV, Matt Olmstead, and Wolf Entertainment. Let’s goooooo!"

Soffer's PD family, without fail, flocked to the comment section to show their support. LaRoyce Hawkins and Tracy Spiridakos posted encouraging emojis, which makes a lot of sense when you consider that the latter is dating Soffer in real life. Spiridakos is also the only Chicago PD cast member who has made an appearance on FBI. Well, at least, she was.

Soffer also received love from FBI: International star Jen Landon

What was even more surprising were the encouraging words from PD cast members who haven't been on the show in years. Nick Wechsler, who was last seen in the fourth season of the cop drama, congratulated Soffer on his new gig. "Congrats, man," he wrote. "Rad news."

Soffer even got support from other corners of the Dick Wolf franchise. Jen Landon has the unique distinction of playing different roles in the FBI and One Chicago shows. She has a recurring part as Sarah Allen on FBI: International, and she was a guest star as the character Janelle Nicholson on Chicago Med. She's happy to have another alum on board, and commented: Heeeckkkk yaaaaaaa."
