Sophia Bush did not leave Chicago PD on the best of terms. She leave on quite terrible terms, actually. The TV actress has been forthright about the issues she had with star Jason Beghe and the rest of the cast, and unsurprisingly, she has never considered returning to the series for a cameo or guest appearance. Can't say we blame her.

Bush's frigid feelings towards Chicago PD is what made a recent post on her Instagram Story so unexpected! The actress posted a photo of her posing with another former PD, star Josh Segarra, with the caption: "But Chicago is WARM now that @joshsegarra is heeeere!"

Segarra played Josh Voight, the son of Beghe's character, Hank. The character only appeared in a handful of episodes, but he did occasionally share time with Bush's Erin Lindsay. The excitement with which Bush shared her mini-Chicago PD reunion comes as a surpise to us and anyone who has been keeping tabs on her statements regarding the show over the last decade.

Bush is not one to speak highly of the procedural drama, as evidenced by the last long form interview she gave on the matter. She detailed the sense of isolation and discomfort she felt on set during a 2023 episode of the Drama Queens podcast:

" That fear that I’m going to keep talking about it better be what makes you behave better on every set you’re on. They better be a little afraid."

Bush's complaints sparked an investigation into the production of Chicago PD and the behavior of Beghe, in particular. The former issued an apology to Variety about news of the investigation broke, and vowed to behave in a more professional manner moving forward:

"I have struggled with anger issues for some time, and over the past year, I have been working with a coach to help me learn how to mitigate my temper."

Bush has not directly acknowledged Beghe or the bulk of the cast members since her time on Chicago PD came to an end. It's therefore nice to see her reconnect with one of the actors in a more positive light!
