Sylvie Brett left Chicago Fire on a high note (but she did almost die)
She did it! Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) married the love of her life and left Chicago Fire in one piece. She had a wedding for the ages, and got a chance to spend quality time with everybody that is special to her at the 51. That's how things ended, at least. The first half of Brett's final episode was a little bit trickier.
Brett was forced to work a harrowing case right before she was set to get married. She accompanied her maid of honor, Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith), to a fire at an expo event, and followed a man into what appeared to be a dangerous area.
Brett was held at gunpoint on her wedding day
It turns out that the man in question was trying to steal products from the expo with nobody looking, but he injured his arm by trying to smash the display glass, and was bleeding out by the time Brett got to him. He told Brett that he would kill her if she didn't help with his injuries, and pointed a gun at her.
Some final shift. Brett did as she was told, but Violet was cagey enough to realize that something was off, so she worked with the firefighters to suss out the suspicious looking man. Brett played her part as the team got closer, spraying liquid in the wannabe criminal's eyes and getting away before any harm come could to her.
She managed to disarm the criminal
She narrowly avoided getting gunned down on the day she was going to be married, and the cherry on top was that her husband-to-be, Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer), arrived on the scene with Boden (Eamonn Walker). That could have been a disaster, needless to say.
The rest of Brett's day was an absolute breeze by comparison. She had no problem with the venue, despite the confusion we discuss in greater detail here, and she has the absolute time of her life.
The episode ends with Brett and Casey embarking on their honeymoon, and if ever people deserved a lengthy rest, it's these two. They'll be missed!
