Tracy Spiridakos is gone, yes. She retired the mantle of Hailey Upton during the final episode of Chicago PD's eleventh season, and is not expected to return anytime soon. That being said, the actress is still extremely close with the rest of the PD cast.

She documented her entire final season on the police drama via Instagram, and left a heartfelt thank you to fans in the form of previously unseen behind-the-scenes photos. It might have seemed, to some, as the last time fans could get to see the actress alongside her PD peers.

Tracy Spiridakos posted a selfie to her Instagram Story

Fortunately, this has not proven to be true. Tracy Spiridakos posted a heartwarming selfie with her two Chicago PD mainstays, Marina Squerciati and Patrick John Flueger, on June 14. The selfie was uploaded to Spiridakos' Instagram Story, but several fans screenshot it and reposted it to make sure its preserved.

The selfie sees the three actors smiling next to the caption: "high tea with my crew." It's definitely not a throwback photo, as Spiridakos can be seen rocking the shorter haircut she got after she wrapped her final scene on Chicago PD.

It's fitting that Squerciati and Flueger are the actors that Spiridakos linked up with. As Kim Burgess and Adam Ruzek, these two will be taking over the central romance subplot that was previously held down by Spiridakos' Upton and Jesse Lee Soffer's Jay Halstead.

Spiridakos has remained friends with the cast

The romance and eventual marriage of Upton and Halstead was complicated, of course, by the exit of the latter in season 10. Upton's character struggled mightily to get back on track, and it took a move as radical as leaving the IU to prompt it.

Ironically, Spiridakos and Soffer are dating in real life. They appear much, much happier than their onscreen counterparts, who eventually separated. They also seem connected as ever to the Chicago PD infrastructure. Soffer has directed PD episodes since leaving, and he celebrated his last birthday with Spiridakos and several other cast members.

We already miss Spiridakos onscreen, but at least we can take solace in the fact that she's still a part of the show's DNA.
