We still don’t know when 911: Lone Star will return for season 5
By Cody Schultz
911 has finally returned with its new season and with the show’s return has come a lot of questions about when its spinoff series 911: Lone Star will be coming back with a new season of its own. This was to be expected as, if you’re like me, if you’re a 911 fan, you’re also a fan of 911: Lone Star and follow both series.
In the past, we’ve seen both series return around the same time and we’ve also seen 911: Lone Star returning a few weeks after 911 kicked off its season. Sadly, that won’t be the case this year due to a number of factors beginning with the fact that 911 has moved to ABC after FOX opted not to renew the series for a seventh season.
When ABC picked up the show, it made it a priority to bring the series back as soon as possible and gave it a prime spot in its lineup paired with its longest-running hit Grey’s Anatomy. However, FOX has taken a different approach with 911: Lone Star.
911: Lone Star won’t be back until Fall 2024
The good news is that 911: Lone Star will be coming back for a fifth season at FOX. The bad news is that FOX has decided to delay the show’s return and will not bring the show back until Fall 2024. That’s right, we won’t be seeing the new season of 911: Lone Star make its way to FOX’s lineup until the fall.
Besides a fall return, we don’t know when exactly 911: Lone Star will kick off its new season as FOX is not expected to announce premiere dates for its fall lineup until closer to or during summer. What we do know is that there is a good chance that the fifth season will begin sometime in September.
FOX typically kicks off its new fall season in mid-to-late September and we imagine the network will stick to a similar release schedule for Fall 2024. If we had to guess, we would imagine the earliest the new season could kick off would be sometime during the week of September 16 or possibly the week of September 23.
