Wilmer Valderrama reveals what he'd like to see happen to his NCIS character

The actor has a specific movie in mind as a reference point.
“The Helpers” – While investigating the death of an intruder at Quantico, Jimmy and Kasie are exposed to a deadly biotoxin and the NCIS team calls on Doctor Carol Wilson (Meredith Eaton) for help as they race to find the antidote. Also, Torres tries to distract Jimmy’s daughter who came to the office to spend the day with her dad, on the CBS Original series NCIS, Monday, Feb. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+*. Nick Torres has gone down some dark paths on NCIS. The show is no stranger to vigilante justice, but Torres has pushed the envelop with some of his actions in recent seasons. It's a testament to Wilmer Valderrama's performance that we are still firmly on his side.

That said, the character has been part of NCIS for seven seasons, so it only makes sense that Wilmer Valderrama would consider what his ultimate fate on the show will be.

Wilmer Valderrama wants to see Torres go full-Training Day

Nothing has been set in stone, of course, as Torres is still very much a part of the main cast, but Valderrama had some fun ideas about what could happen down the line. And it has to do with the classic 2001 film Training Day.

During a recent interview with People Magazine, Valderrama admitted that he'd like to see Torres go out in a fashion similar to Denzel Washington's crooked cop in Training Day. Not identical, since the NCIS character is nowhere near as bad as Washington's cop, but stemming from similar views on family and loyalty:

""I think not being the bad guy [like Harris was], of course I'd like to die as a good guy."

The actor maintained that Torres is still a good guy ultimately

Valderrama, who of course got his start in comedy via That 70s Show, likes the dark direction that Torres has gone in. "Defending my family somehow, just in a storm of bullets," he explaine. "I just see a storm of bullets just washing over me, just dying heroically with violins in the background and the rain is pouring."

It's a morbid image, especially for network television, but it isn't conceptually far off from the violent acts that Torres has committed. Valderrama's co-star Brian Dietzen chimed in with a joke, asking whether he would like to have white doves flying around during his blaze of glory.

Valderrama ran with the bit, knowing he was being kidded. "No, no doves," he quipped. "That's a little too Nicolas Cage." How do you think Nick Torres should go, when he eventually does?
