The first episode of Brilliant Minds introduced us to the main players in the series. Now it’s time to get into more details. Episode 2 is set to see Wolf push a few more boundaries.

Zachary Quinto’s Wolf is not your normal doctor. He doesn’t like the way doctors treat symptoms and not the patients. They say that they are doing the best for patients, but that’s not always the case. Wolf does more, but it often means breaking the rules.

Brilliant Minds season 1, episode 2 gives us a disembodied woman

The series also gives us a look at the way the brain works—or doesn’t. In the new episode, we’ll see a woman who has disconnected from her body. This woman is a high school basketball coach, but it looks like she is in a wheelchair right now. Wolf doesn’t think that has to be the case, but he doesn’t have long to reconnect this woman’s body with her mind.

How do you go about doing this? Is it a case of mind over matter? Is there something else going on?

The synopsis doesn’t give us much to work with, and the promo is focused on the season to come. We only get one flash of this medical case as we see Wolf get a woman to stand up from a wheelchair, but she falls forward.

We’ll also see the interns working on their own cases. Dana and Ericka will treat a frat boy who sees dragons. Now this would suggest that there are drugs involved, but that’s probably not the case. It’s probably just what doctors believe at first. Again, the brain doesn’t always work properly, or it can just work in mysterious ways.

Take a look at the synopsis and promo for Brilliant Minds season 1, episode 2:

"When a high school girls' basketball coach is faced with a debilitating illness, Dr. Wolf must help his patient reconnect with her body before it's too late; Ericka and Dana treat a frat boy who sees dragons"

There are only two images released for this episode, and they give us nothing to work with. The first is the featured image at the top of this post, and the second is just below:

One thing that is clear is that we’ll get more of Wolf’s relationship with his mother. It turns out that she is the Chief of the hospital. She will know what her son can be like, and while she wants him to do what he’s good at, she also needs him to stop getting the hospital into trouble. Will she stop him from helping patients, though?

Brilliant Minds airs Mondays at 10/9c on NBC. Catch up the following day on Peacock.
