As one CFD chief leaves, another one is about to enter the picture! On the heels of Dermot Mulroney’s exit from Chicago Fire, NBC’s hit drama is about to introduce a new CFD Battalion Chief with the arrival of Rob Morgan’s Battalion Chief Hopkins.

Chief Hopkins’ introduction was teased during the fallout of Pascal’s firing, with Pascal explaining to Firehouse 51’s team that he would be taking over command of the firehouse.

“Details are still being worked out, but in the interim, Chief Hopkins will be overseeing 51 along with five other houses,” Pascal revealed to the 51 team after announcing his termination from the CFD.

The arrival of a new chief already has the 51 team on edge, and it was quickly established that Chief Hopkins has a reputation for being a bit of a hard-ass. “Guys say he’s a real hard-ass,” Severide told Cruz when asked what he knew about Chief Hopkins before adding that, “I don’t think we’ll see him that much. He’s got to cover a bunch of houses.”

Chief Hopkins’ reputation precedes him, as the character will indeed have a long, haunted history in the CFD, overseeing several Chicago firehouses. As Severide hinted, the character has a reputation for being tough and uncompromising; he’s also someone who likes to throw his weight around. As the character description warned, Chief Hopkins is quick to assert authority over his colleagues.

We’ll officially meet Chief Hopkins in episode 16, airing April 1, and fans will see the character appear in four episodes during this guest stint, including the season finale. This seems to suggest Severide’s comment about Chief Hopkins not being around much will prove true, which makes sense given he’ll be overseeing six firehouses, including Firehouse 51.

Chicago Fire is the latest in a long list of acting credits for Morgan, who has appeared in several amazing shows and movies over the years!

Marvel fans will likely recognize Morgan for his role in the Marvel-Netflix universe, where he played Turk Barrett, an arms dealer and smuggler who appeared in every show in the franchise. After debuting in Daredevil, Morgan would reprise the role of Turk in guest appearances in Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders, which put him in an elite group as one of the few actors to appear in each of the shows.

Morgan also appeared in the third season of NBC’s Emmy-winning drama This Is Us as Councilman Solomon "Sol" Brown. The smart and charming councilman faced off against Sterling K. Brown’s character, Randall Pearson, in the race for the Philadelphia City Council seat, a race that Brown’s character would end up winning.

Sports fans likely enjoyed Morgan’s turn as Earvin Johnson Sr., the father of NBA legend Magic Johnson, in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, while Netflix fans will recognize him for playing Officer Powell in Stranger Things.

Of course, these are just a few of Morgan’s credits as he’s appeared in a number of hit shows and movies over the years.

Morgan’s additional TV credits include hits such as Lawmen: Bass Reeves, High Maintenance, Bull, The Knick, and Person of Interest. On the film side, Morgan has appeared in a variety of movies, including Don’t Look Up, The Unforgivable, Greyhound, Monsters and Men, Mudbound, and Bull.
