SWAT does not have a new episode on March 28, 2025, but we do know what to expect from the new episode once it airs. With the synopsis out for the next episode, let’s go over what is happening the next time we see Squad 20.

In the last episode we saw, the team were in the middle of an undercover operation when a group of bank robbers took the station hostage. The episode was a different look at the team as they tried to carefully get out of the situation while not making their identities as cops known.

It was a rare glimpse at the team outside of the station and in an element that was foreign to them. However, as it always happens, they were able to stop the bank robbers while also finding the person they had been investigating before the hostage situation.

The team will investigate a college football case

Hail Mary
“Hail Mary” – The abduction and brutal torture of two college football stars puts SWAT on the trail of a violent drug dealer looking to extract vengeance for a drug deal gone bad, while Deacon’s heroics bring unexpected attention, on S.W.A.T., Friday, April 4 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. NBA

The next episode will air on Friday, April 4 and we’re already anticipating it, especially since it will some legendary football stars. NBA all-star Kenny Smith and Pro football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice both will appear in the episode, titled “Hail Mary.”

As per the synopsis, the team is on the case of two college football players who were not only abducted but were tortured for reasons that could be related to a drug deal gone bad. The synopsis also hints that Deacon takes some sort of heroic action that will bring attention from an unexpected place.

In stills that were released, it appears that Gamble and Alfaro are helping Deacon with security detail. So maybe something happens during this incident that will lead to the arc he is part of in the episode.

SWAT series finale airs May 20

We’re just weeks away from the series finale so there’s plenty we want to see as the show comes to the end, as sad as we are about the show ending. But we do hope for happy endings for the characters, such as Victor Tan and seeing where he is with his relationship and his work at SWAT Academy.

Perhaps they will find a way for Tan and Deacon to both take on SWAT Academy, since it would be a great way to finish off their arc. As for Hondo, we’d also love to see one more glimpse of him and Nichelle before the series ends.

This episode is set to air at 10/9c and will be available the following day on Paramount+.
