Fans of SWAT will have to wait a little longer to see Squad 20 battle more bad guys on the CBS series. There will be no new episode until Friday, May 1. Find out what we know so far about the episode and what we can expect during the last few episodes of the series.

The last time we saw the team, they were searching for a woman named Kate after a nightclub shooting. Her brother had been working with a biker gang to find her, but didn’t realize it would get that bad during his search. She had been trying to become an actress in Hollywood but something went wrong and she needed his help.

It was soon learned that someone had agreed to help Kate get work, but then began running a trafficking ring, making girls do cam videos for money. During that episode, we also saw Deputy Chief Bennet trying to reassign Commander Hicks while also hinting that Hondo might be in the run for his job.

Open Season
“Open Season” – 20-Squad must race to uncover a dangerous enemy intent on revenge. Also, Deacon and Tan butt heads over Tan’s changes to SWAT academy, on S.W.A.T., Friday, Jan. 31 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+. In the upcoming episode “Run to Ground,” which is the 19th episode of season 8, an explosion is disgused as an escape attempt for six inmates. They were working jobs at a fruit-packing facility and according to the synopsis, they had planned the escape so they could go on a robbery spree.

We’re also set to continuing the long-running arc involving Commander Hicks, whose job has been threatened by  Bennett to the point where he was willing to walk away from the job rather than get reassigned.

The position would have been a downgrade, and he did not want his time at SWAT to end that way. This new episode will find Hicks preparing to pack up the things in his office. However, fans are hoping that something will come through and he won’t have to leave.

Elsewhere in the episode, we will also get an update on Devin Gamble’s father, in which the synopsis described it as “sobering news.” This could mean so many things, especially since Gamble still has complicated feelings over her father and how his actions have shaped her career.

There is also a schedule change beginning with the May 1 episode of SWAT. Instead of airing at 10/9c, it will air at 9/8c. This will help align the schedule as the series finale comes up on May 16, in which it will air the final two episodes back-to-back.

We will keep you updated with any news about the rest of the SWAT episodes as the series comes to an end. Make sure to keep up to date at One Chicago Center for more information.
