There's no new episode of 911: Lone Star tonight, Oct. 28 (and here's why)

911: Lone Star won't be airing a new episode tonight on FOX, but there's a good reason why.

If you’re hoping to enjoy your Monday night by watching a new episode of 911: Lone Star, we have some bad news for you. There will be no new episode of 911: Lone Star season 5 airing this Monday night on FOX, nor will there be a rerun for fans to enjoy this evening and there’s one key reason the final season is taking a break this week.

FOX is once again home to the World Series which has been airing in primetime on FOX, which has required FOX to put its scripted and unscripted originals on break in order to make room for the World Series coverage. With Game 3 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees airing tonight, both 911: Lone Star and Rescue: HI-Surf are taking the week off as part of FOX’s World Series coverage.

While there will not be a new episode of 911: Lone Star this Monday, the good news is that this will not be an extended break as new episodes of the final season will resume on Monday, Nov. 4.

Episode 6 promises to be yet another intense episode, and we’re not talking about the calls the team will be taking during the episode.

As the promo for the episode teased, episode 6 promises to be a big episode for both Owen and Tommy who will each be working through personal matters though we’re most worried about Tommy. In the promo, an emotional Tommy tells Nancy that doctors found something bad on her latest mammogram hinting that Tommy is about to deal with a health scare of some kind, most likely in the form of a cancer storyline.

Meanwhile, it seems Owen is about to have to face the demons from his past as he attempts to work with Marlene on training Thunder, the horse Owen saved in the previous episode.

With only a few episodes left this season, we’re eager to see where these storylines will take both Tommy and Owen as 911: Lone Star nears the finish line. Episode 6 might be a challenging one to watch especially as Tommy faces her health scare, and we’re prepared for some waterworks as we know Gina Torres will deliver an emotional performance that is sure to pull at fans’ heartstrings.

Don't miss a new episode of 911: Lone Star on Monday, Nov. 4 at 8/7c on FOX!
