One Chicago has not wavered. While other franchises like FBI have slipped in the ratings department, the triumvirate of NBC shows have continued to draw excellent numbers. TV Line recently released a list of the 25 most-watched non-sports programs in 2025, and we are pleased to report that two of our beloved One Chicago titles made the top 10.
Chicago Fire, the show that started it all, continues to draw the best ratings in the franchise. The firefighting drama pulled in a whopping 7.87 million viewers in the hallowed 18-49 demographic. Good enough for seventh place on the top 25 list. Chicago Fire is a bit down from last season, but numbers like an encouraging sign as we wait on renewal news.
Chicago PD fell out of the top 10

Chicago Med is not far behind. The medical drama has been the One Chicago breakout of 2025, drawing consistently high ratings and competing with Fire in ways that we have rarely seen in the show's ten seasons. Med racked up 7.6 million, which landed it the tenth spot on the list. This is no small feat, as the medical drama outperformed other hits like 9-1-1, Will Trent and Fire Country.
The only One Chicago title that failed to crack the top 10 was Chicago PD. the procedural drama has slipped somewhat, in terms of ratings, leading to a season that has been described as unremarkable by some fans. PD still managed to pull in 7 million viewers, which was good enough for 13th place, but it's still worth noting that these numbers are down 10% from 2023-24.
One Chicago shows have yet to secure renewals

Having two shows in the top 10, and three in the top 15 bodes extremely well given that NBC is in the midst of figuring out which shows to bring back for the 2025-26 season. We've already discussed the ways in which One Chicago is in a better spot than some of its network peers that are on the bubble, like The Equalizer, which slipped down to 22nd place on TV Line's list.
One Chicago is produced by NBCUniversal, meaning its shows do not have to go through the very complicated process of renegotiating contracts with a production company each time a renewal is issued. One Chicago also has the benefit of being shot in one concentrated location (you can likely guess where), as opposed to, say, FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, which feature a range of different settings.
Ratings and costs appear to be the biggest talking points when it comes to TV renewals, and we are confident that One Chicago is in good shape to continue its dominance on NBC.
