Fans of NCIS: Origins unfortunately did not get to watch a new episode of the series after the new episode of NCIS aired on Monday, Feb. 24. When will new episodes come back?

The last time we saw the team, we got to learn more about Mike Franks and his relationship with Tish. We got to see their first meeting back in 1982, when Mike saw her driving on the side of the road and let her know her tire was flat. There was definite flirtation and eventually Tish would use her talents as a hair stylist to give him a new look.

Alongside the flashbacks to their meeting, in the present, Mike attempted to help a war veteran who had severe PTSD and had just lost a friend of his. He was tormented by the flashbacks and despite Mike’s attempts to help, he would lash out violently after one of his episodes.

NCIS: Origins will air new episode on March 24

Blue Bayou
“Blue Bayou” – As Leroy Jethro Gibbs prepares for his first Christmas without his wife and daughter, flashbacks reveal the unlikely journey that led to his first day on the job as a special agent at NIS’ Camp Pendleton office working with Mike Franks and Lala, on NCIS: ORIGINS, Monday, Dec. 16 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day

Unfortunately it would turn out that during one of his episodes, he had unknowingly killed his friend. As hard as that was for Mike to handle, he also had personal issues regarding his relationship. He had promised Tish not to keep looking for the man who had assaulted her. But when she found out what he was doing, she couldn’t accept what he was doing.

Tish told him she couldn’t be with him anymore, but still embraced him despite their relationship dissolving after almost a decade. While it was something fans saw coming since we know how the rest of Mike’s life transpired, it was still sad to see since the actors had such amazing chemistry together.

While we still do not know much about the next episode, we know it will air on Monday, March 24 at 10/9c. Why such a long wait? There’s no clear reason why the show is not returning until then. Most likely it is to give the show a break and then come back at a later time so the remaining episodes can be released on a regular weekly schedule without breaks.

Reruns of season 1 episodes will air on NBC

Instead of new episodes for the next couple of weeks, there will be reruns of previous airings for viewers to watch. The first rerun on March 3 is “Flight of Icarus,” which followed Mike’s journey into the Marines, followed by “Touchstones” on March 10. That episode provided more information on Kowalski and his journey from a prisoner of war to working in the NIS evidence room.

The last rerun before a new episode airs is “Monsoon,” which is the episode regarding Mike and Tish’s break up. Then we will be back on schedule with new episodes during the spring.

Besides watching the reruns during the brief hiatus, you can also find full episodes from season 1 on Paramount+. Make sure to keep an eye on One Chicago Center for continuing coverage.
