Where every major One Chicago couple stood before the summer break

As we prepare for Chicago Fire, Med, and PD to return, let's take a look at where the previous seasons left our favorite couples! Here's where the major couples on all three programs stood before spring break

It's nearly time for each One Chicago show to air their fall premieres, which means it's also time for each show's couples to pick up where they left off with one another when summer arrived.

As usual, there was a ton of drama, a whole lot of twists and turns, and a set of changeups that left some of the franchise's most popular characters worried about where their love lives were headed.

On Chicago Med, Dean Archer and Hannah Asher finally lived to see the birth of their daughter, though between the hostage situation they had to endure, the fluctuating state of their feelings for one another, the threat posed to their daughter's general health, and their mutual happiness, they never seemed very certain. Fortunately, Mabel was born a happy, healthy baby. The emotion of the moment finally made Archer admit out loud that he's in love with Asher. But she didn't reply with any love overtures of her own, simply telling him that she was happy he'd told her that, kissing his cheek.

More thrilling romantic horizons were in store for Lenox and Ripley, who patched things up after Lenox finally stopped pushing Ripley away and opened up about her diagnosis of Gerstmann-Sträussler-Scheinker (GSS) disease, an incurable brain disease that will one day take her life. Lenox finally changes her mind about being with Ripley during the season finale, deciding to stop avoiding the diagnosis and pushing people away.

On Chicago Fire, Stellaride leaned on each other while Kelly tried to decide where he wanted to go with his career next. He hadn't decided between heading 51 as captain or becoming a part of the OFI when the team was called on to its latest fire. Kidd and Severide were also surprised by the sudden appearance of their foster son, Isaiah, who told them he'd rather stay with the two of them than return home to his mother.

After a long, tumultuous season in which the family's home burned down, Chris and Cindy Herrmann renewed their vows at Molly's, with all of 51 looking on. It was a lovely moment of recommitment, which definitely left audiences concerned for Chris' well-being during the season's climactic structure fire.

Meanwhile, Vasquez and Novak decided to turn their situationship into a genuine connection, deciding to go out on a date after weeks of no-feelings-involved hookups.

Chicago P.D. proved to be the least romantic of the One Chicago shows this season, but Adam Ruzek and Kim Burgess' romance continued happily apace. Having moved to a better neighborhood for the happiness and safety of their daughter, the twosome coped with the death of Adam's dad, "Disco" Bob Ruzek, but overall ended up settling into happy domestic bliss. Other cops embarked on romances that were very brief but still managed to contain the promise of something new.

The biggest development on the relationship front for the season came via Kevin Atwater and Tasha Fox, whose fling early in the season resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. By the season's end, Tasha had agreed to move back to Chicago so that she and Kevin could get to know one another better and prepare to co-parent their child.

On October 7, fans will see if those attachments turn into roaring successes or major failures when Chicago Fire, Med, and PD return for their new seasons!
