‘Chicago Fire’ director Joe Chappelle’s movie ‘The Pages’ has added ‘The Exorcist’ recurring guest star Deanna Dunagan to its cast.

Chicago Fire director Joe Chappelle has a new movie in the works, and The Pages added to its cast on Monday by landing Tony Award winner Deanna Dunagan.

Dunagan will be recognizable to TV fans for her recurring role on FOX’s The Exorcist, where she portrayed Mother Bernadette, the leader of a convent who became an ally to Father Marcus Keane (played by series star Ben Daniels).

The Chicago resident is also a Tony winner in 2008 for her performance as Violet Weston in Tracy Letts’ play August: Osage County, a role which she went on to reprise in London and Sydney.

And fans of the Dick Wolf universe may recognize Dunagan from her guest appearance as defense attorney Estelle Adams in the 2008 Law & Order episode “Zero.”

Deanna Dunagan’s role in The Pages wasn’t revealed Monday but the actress joins an already impressive ensemble that includes Jamie Lee Curtis (FOX’s Scream Queens) and Tika Sumpter (OWN’s The Haves and the Have Nots).

And if you had a chance to see her work as Mother Bernadette on The Exorcist, you know why this news is worth some excitement from One Chicago fans. Deanna Dunagan put on a fantastic performance last fall as she helped literally battle the forces of evil, and the idea of her working with Chicago Fire‘s most prolific director Joe Chappelle is an intriguing one.

We’ll continue to keep tabs on the development of The Pages and let you know who else joins the film, because there is certainly no shortage of great talent in the Chicago area, so it’ll also be interesting to see how many other folks will be part of what ought to be a fantastic film.
