Chicago PD season 5, episode 10 preview: Rabbit Hole
Which Chicago PD character is in the most trouble on Wednesday? Look ahead to tonight’s episode with our Chicago PD season 5, episode 10 preview.
When Chicago PD returns tonight, it’s not going to be a fun place to be.
The midseason premiere “Rabbit Hole” has to answer questions about not one, but two of the Intelligence Unit’s detectives, and it certainly won’t look good for the team’s public image.
So will Adam Ruzek get his walking papers? And will Jay Halstead need a time out?
There’s a lot going on here, and it’s hard to imagine that everything Chicago PD has set up in this episode will turn out good.

“Rabbit Hole” focuses on Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), and it seems like this will be the episode where fans finally get to see what has apparently been wrong with him for the last several weeks.
We know that Halstead hooked up with Camila (recurring guest star Anabelle Acosta) in the show’s last episode, and some Chicago PD fans probably won’t be happy to see that relationship front and center in this installment. There’s not any chemistry between the actors, and as for the characters, it still feels strange to see Halstead sleeping with someone new—especially someone he hardly knows.
But thoughts about that relationship aside, at least this episode should give fans some clarity on why we’re supposed to be so concerned about Jay Halstead.
And it’s ironic that it happens in the same week that Jay’s brother Will suffers a health crisis on Chicago Med.

“Rabbit Hole” sets up a plotline where Halstead has to choose between Camila and his case, but for Chicago PD fans, is that really a dilemma? We know that loyalty to the Intelligence Unit is the top virtue here—and we’ve already seen that exact same issue play out with Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) earlier this season.
It’s hard to imagine Halstead not helping his team, even if it winds up hurting Camila. That’d just be against how the entire show operates.
Elsewhere, Chicago PD season 5 is supposed to answer the question of what happens to Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), who’s been suspiciously absent from any photos for this episode, and it’s a bit weird that the first episode back is more about Halstead than him.
We don’t think Ruzek will die; you can find out why we’ve come to that conclusion here. But we do think things will get worse for him, before they get better. And it’ll be interesting to see that story play out, because again, loyalty is paramount on this show so how will Ruzek be able to prove that he can ever be trusted again?
There’s a lot at play here, and the team needs to get themselves back in line, because they don’t want to give Denny Woods (Mykelti Williamson) any more ammunition in his vendetta. Let’s see if this episode winds up being as big as it needs to be.
