Chicago Med season 3, episode 6 preview: Ties That Bind
How will Chicago Med’s doctors recover this week? Look ahead to tonight’s episode with One Chicago Center’s Chicago Med season 3, episode 6 preview.
Tuesday’s episode of Chicago Med may be more important for the doctors than any of their patients.
Season 3, Episode 6 is called “Ties That Bind,” and we’ll be keeping our eyes on Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo).
After Will found himself temporarily paralyzed last week, he’s returned to treating patients in this episode, and we’re curious if Chicago Med will make any reference to that Tuesday.
While he’ll have made a full recovery, it’s still a big event to have experienced, so it wouldn’t be that much of a surprise if Will was asked about it, or we get some other callback to it.

Then there’s Dr. Sarah Reese. Last week’s episode had her trying to buy a gun, which was a big turning point of her own.
Though Reese was only able to get herself pepper spray due to not having the proper paperwork, it’s not really a spoiler to say that she’s the doctor who gets in trouble for assaulting a patient, given how we have seen her on edge for weeks and how NBC also named her in the episode’s synopsis.
So we know that Chicago Med season 3 will involve Reese getting suspended during Tuesday’s episode.
And how will that affect her, as well as the hospital as a whole?

For all the unconventional and/or controversial things our characters do, for the most part, they tend to get away with it. Will had to deal with a lawsuit and Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) was arrested, but we haven’t seen a main character get suspended or fired yet.
The question will be just how much Chicago Med is going to play with that idea.
Will Reese get suspended early in the episode, and we’ll see what the place is like without her (and what she’s like without the hospital, because in her agitated state, that could be trouble)? Will that mean she’s out for an episode or two, or will the show do another of its time jumps and skip over any sort of consequences from her suspension?
And how will the hospital board, which has already been complaining this season, react when it finds out about Reese’s behavior? Will that be one more black mark for the staff and for Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) as her job could potentially be in jeopardy?
There are several different ways to play this, some more impactful than others, and it will be very interesting to see how “Ties That Bind” approaches Reese’s story, and if it shows how her actions affect others.
