Will Chicago PD’s Kim Burgess get burned again? Look ahead to tonight’s episode with One Chicago Center’s Chicago PD season 5, episode 11 preview.

Wednesday’s next Chicago PD episode features Kim Burgess, which is both a great thing and, depending on how you slice it, a terrible thing.

Season 5, Episode 11 is called “Confidential,” and it focuses on Burgess (Marina Squerciati) after her confidential informant—thus the title—helps break the case of the week open.

More of Kim Burgess is a good thing. But more of the way Chicago PD season 5 has been going for her, not so much.

While “Confidential” could be a great Burgess episode, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s going to be a great episode for Burgess.

More from One Chicago Center

This will be the third Chicago PD season 5 episode where Burgess has had the spotlight, and the last two have both involved her saving the case but at her expense.

In “The Thing About Heroes”, Burgess found out the truth about an accused police officer, but he wound up committing suicide in front of her.

And in “Politics”, Burgess also helped close the case but she did it by betraying her then-boyfriend, who is now presumably her ex-boyfriend (at least, he hasn’t been seen since and she didn’t sound optimistic the one time he was mentioned).

So will “Confidential” bring Burgess more success at work but also more weight to carry on her shoulders personally? We hope not.

Another big question Chicago PD ought to ask is what will happen to Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) after everything unraveled for him last episode.

Halstead is not in a good place personally, he’s also in trouble for almost screwing up a case, and the sneak peek for “Confidential” shows his partner working with Burgess instead. So is he in the proverbial penalty box this week? If so, how will he get out?

And how will that affect the already tenuous nature of the team? (After all, this is usually when Denny Woods shows up to be a jerk and make more threats.) Watch the sneak peek below and tell us what you think will happen Wednesday:
