What happened this week in One Chicago history? Here are the moments from Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med past in the week of Jan. 15-21.

While we enjoy the current week in One Chicago, we’re also looking back into what happened this week in One Chicago history.

These are the important dates in Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD and Chicago Justice past that you might remember. And if you don’t, we’ve got a refresher.

There were quite a few episodes premiering this week in the history books, so let’s look back at all the premieres we enjoyed.

Here’s what happened in One Chicago history this week:

More from One Chicago Center

January 15, 2014: The Chicago PD season 1 episode “Wrong Side of the Bars” airs.

Four years ago we were treated to the second episode of Chicago PD, during which the entire Intelligence Unit was focused on rescuing Antonio Dawson’s (Jon Seda) son after he was kidnapped Columbian gang leader El Pulpo (guest star Arturo Del Puerto).

Antonio crossed some lines he never thought he would when he used some of Hank Voight’s (Jason Beghe) unconventional techniques in interrogating a suspect connected to the kidnapping.

We also got a peek into Jay Halstead’s (Jesse Lee Soffer) military past, and maybe a foreshadowing of the future Linstead ship, when Detective Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) reached out to him for support after she had to make the notification that Antonio’s partner Julia Willhite had died in the line of duty.

January 18, 2017: The Chicago PD season 4 episode “Sanctuary” airs.

After a jogger was brutally murdered in a neighborhood park, Intelligence was challenged on multiple fronts in trying to catch the killer. The prime suspects ran to a local church and were given sanctuary by the priest, making it impossible for Intelligence to arrest or even question them. It wasn’t until an angry mob outside set the church on fire and they fled that they were arrested and questioned, and Voight doubted they were truly responsible.

January 19, 2016: The Chicago Med season 1 episode “Bound” airs.

This was a tough episode for Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) when he had to deal with Homeland Security, an argumentative Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), and his estranged father, who was funding a new psychiatric unit at the hospital named after his late mother.

But most Chicago Med fans will remember this episode for it being Dr. Natalie Manning’s (Torrey DeVitto) delivery day! Of course, we can’t have a baby born on a medical show without at least a little bit of drama and so was the case with Baby Manning. But Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) saved the day, and everyone celebrated the arrival of a new life into the One Chicago world.

January 19, 2016: The Chicago Fire season 4 episode “The Path of Destruction” airs.

Did anyone say tornado? A tornado hit Chicago and touched down right in the heart of Christopher Herrmann’s (David Eigenberg) neighborhood, on his first day back to work after being stabbed. The episode gave us plenty of high drama injuries and rescues as a result of the tornado, but it also marked a point of no return for Jessica “Chili” Chilton (Dora Madison) when Chili’s partner Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) finally reported her after she almost killed a patient and then lied about it.

January 19, 2017: The Chicago Med season 2 episode “Graveyard Shift” airs.

It was a busy and bizarre night at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center this night a year ago. Dr. Halstead had been taking on extra shifts as a result of his financial crisis and was hoping for a quiet third shift, but that came to a screeching halt when three cases arrived at the ED simultaneously. Rhodes got called out of a dinner date to find out his emergency heart patient was a panda from the zoo that Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) volunteered at, in one of our favorite plots of the entire season.

So in this week, we’ve had a tornado and a panda. Seems legit.

January 21: Chicago Med’s Nick Gehlfuss celebrates a birthday.

This week we’re celebrating the birthday of Chicago Med star Nick Gehlfuss, whose scrappy Dr. Will Halstead has been through quite a lot since he returned home to Chicago. So far this season, aside from a bout of temporary paralysis, things seem to be working out well for Will. We certainly know that Chicago Med wouldn’t be the same without Nick!

January 21, 2014: The Chicago Fire season 2 episode “Tonight’s the Night” airs.

It was a busy night for Firehouse 51 four years ago, when our heroes had to play host to a lot of community members after a drunk driver took out a transformer and left the area without power on a bitter cold Chicago winter evening.

This led to a whole of lot of tension, including Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) throwing a man out of the firehouse after he caught him attacking another man, and confronting Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) about his ongoing memory problems. And that wasn’t even the worst of this action-packed episode!
