Chicago Fire brings back another figure from Kelly Severide’s past this week. Here’s the official Chicago Fire season 6, episode 10 synopsis and teaser.

The next Chicago Fire might sound familiar to fans, as it’s definitely going to be familiar territory for Kelly Severide.

Thursday’s episode is called “Slamigan” and involves Severide (Taylor Kinney) reuniting with Grissom (guest star Gary Cole), another figure from his family history. Grissom has an idea for Severide, but we also saw a familiar face offer Severide a job in Springfield last season, so is Chicago Fire season 6 going to handle this differently?

But it will be great to see Cole, who’s been in countless favorite TV shows and movies over the years, and currently voices Sergeant Bosco on FOX‘s Bob’s Burgers.

Elsewhere in the episode, we’ll get more screen time for Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso). After possibly making a love connection last week, Cruz relies on some of his colleagues from Firehouse 51 to help him come up with an idea for a new firefighting tool. Considering who’s involved, it’s not a spoiler to say that this will be the comedic subplot of the episode. Any time someone has a big idea on this show, it usually becomes a big disaster.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"Dawson and Casey do everything they can to locate Bria’s whereabouts after discovering important new information. Severide reunites with Chief Grissom, an old family friend. Meanwhile, Cruz enlists the help of Brett and Mouch to create a new tool, and Kidd and Zach go on a date."

And here’s the official “Slamigan” promo that’s been airing in advance of the episode:
