Is Chicago PD going to have someone take a hard fall this week? Look ahead to tonight’s episode with our Chicago PD season 5, episode 13 preview.

After last week’s rerun, we’re ready for a new episode of Chicago PD. But tonight’s installment could be a case of being careful what you wish for.

This week’s episode is called “Chasing Monsters,” but it could be more about the monsters who are hovering around the Intelligence Unit.

The case of the week involves Intelligence going up against a drug cartel from South America, and that requires them to enlist the help of a narcotics detective from El Salvador.

But the detective, played by actress Sofia Lama (Designated Survivor), isn’t what she apppears to be. And she could be big trouble in One Chicago.

The official description of this episode says the new arrival ends up “getting close” to Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), which in TV-speak usually means there’s some kind of flirtation or romantic entanglement.

But does Antonio really need that? For that matter, do we?

Antonio just broke up with Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) on Chicago Fire a few weeks ago. That show already had the awkward storyline of her trying to pick up a rebound date, and now it sounds like the same thing is going to happen on Chicago PD.

That feels like drama for the sake of creating drama, and besides, is Antonio short-sighted enough to get involved with someone in the middle of a case? He seems like somebody who’d be focused on the job, not his personal life.

Besides, it’s not like there isn’t enough tension to go around in this Chicago PD episode. Will Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) have any side effects from being kidnapped and injured in “Captive”? He should; he had a pretty nasty leg injury, among other things.

And there’s some personal trouble ahead for Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), who learns someone has found the body of his son Justin’s murderer, and that’s not good at all—worse when Denny Woods (Mykelti Williamson) is back and still trying to dig dirt up himself. (Pun intended.)

There could be some genuinely intense plot twists for Chicago PD season 5 in this episode, or it could be one that makes fans want to beat their head into the wall. We’ll find out tonight.
