Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, so we’re looking at the Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med characters who still need to find love in One Chicago.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, love is in the air and that includes in the One Chicago franchise.

There’s no shortage of ships to talk about, from Chicago Fire‘s original pairing Dawsey to the new romances on Chicago Med like Chexton. But not everybody has a ship to spend the day with. More than a few of our characters are still single.

This post is dedicated to those characters. Today we’re looking at the Top 5 One Chicago heroes who don’t have a Valentine’s Day date, but certainly deserve one. Hopefully they’ll find love this season because we definitely love them.

Here’s our top picks from the One Chicago dating pool:

More from One Chicago Center

1) Kevin Atwater

How is Kevin Atwater still single? It’s unbelievable that Chicago PD hasn’t found him a good woman yet. He’s adorable, smart, funny, has a steady job and we know he’s good with kids. Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) is pretty much the perfect guy, except for the part where he always has to chase down every bad guy in a ten-mile radius.

Now it’s understandable if Atwater has been more focused on his family to date (not to mention also dealing with the whole being kidnapped thing). But with his siblings in Texas, this would be a great time for Atwater to find some romance.

Brettonio, Burzek and Linstead have all come and gone, while Chicago PD can’t give Kevin Atwater a date? C’mon now. You know he’d be the best Valentine’s Day date ever.

2) Connor Rhodes

Chicago Med put Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) back into the single column this season, and we don’t think he’s going to be hard up for a Valentine’s Day date. He’s a ridiculously good-looking doctor who’s currently driving a Porsche. Women are going to fall over him, as well they should.

Now we’re going to be fair here and say that we don’t think Connor has to have a new love interest this Valentine’s Day, or for a while, really. He’s already had two ships over two and a half seasons, and we’re pretty sure he’s in the middle of a mid-life crisis, so he doesn’t need to go picking a new girlfriend up right now. Dude needs to work on himself for a bit.

But that doesn’t change the fact that whenever he starts dating again, he’s a catch. Aside from all the superlative stuff, we know that Connor is compassionate, charming and dedicated almost to a fault. With Robin (Mekia Cox), he fought both her father and his father to defend her. He’s a great guy who deserves to find true love—so we’re hoping the show doesn’t rush him into a rebound fling or a cliche romance with Ava (Norma Kuhling).

3) Hailey Upton

Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) is the new girl in One Chicago, so it’s not surprising that she’s single; she hasn’t had time to find a Valentine’s Day companion. In fact, the only person we know she was close to on any level ended up dead. So, um, her personal life has been a bit rough.

But just like Upton has proven to be a great fit for Chicago PD‘s Intelligence Unit, we think she’d be a great fit in a ship with the right partner. She’s intelligent, attractive, seems to be pretty laid-back about most things that don’t involve ethical and/or legal violations, and can certainly hold her own with anybody. You’d have to think there’s a nice, straight-laced guy out there for her somewhere. Maybe someone at the State’s Attorney’s Office or how about just a nice, normal dude who works at a bank?

Hey, maybe Upton and Atwater can go out to dinner on Valentine’s Day and commisserate about being single together.

4) Joe Cruz

Was anyone else surprised when we never heard anything more about Chicago Fire‘s Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) and the girl he ran into at the rehab facility? She seemed pretty interested in him, and we can see why. Cruz needs a date, if for no other reason than to get himself over his renewed crush on Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer).

We know that Brett’s not interested in Cruz. Brett knows she’s not interested in Cruz. And deep down, Cruz knows Brett’s not interested in Cruz, which is what makes Fire‘s decision to have him crushing on her in season 6 all the more awkwardly painful to watch. It’s going to cause nothing but heartache, and there’s no reason for that when Cruz could be making someone else happy.

He’s clearly got a sense of humor and a heart of gold, plus he’s got no shortage of creative ideas, so you can only imagine that he’d pull out all the stops to make it a great Valentine’s Day. And if his date gets locked out of her apartment at the end of the night, well, Cruz has something for that too:

5) Daniel Charles

We don’t know about you, but we’d kind of like to see Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) get a date. Yes, it’s been established that he was terrible at marriage and fatherhood (though we don’t believe as bad as he thinks he was), and he’s got his hands full mentoring slash surrogate parenting Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo).

But Daniel means well, even if he does get caught up in his own head or the heads of others sometimes. He’s very caring, even if he’s not the best at showing it. He can be charming when he wants to be. And he knows a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff, which would make him a fun date.

Plus, why should Chicago Med give the young doctors all the romance? Dr. Charles could get back out there and we’d get to see some fun scenes for Oliver Platt as Daniel tries to navigate the new minefield of modern dating. Could you imagine him trying to figure out what eHarmony or Tinder are? The potential for humor, and maybe even something genuinely interesting, is out there.

Until then, we suggest he and Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) open a bottle of wine, order a pizza, and have a buddy date dishing on their failed marriages. We’d watch the heck out of that.
