Chicago Fire season 6 casts Damon Dayoub as new firefighter
Chicago Fire is bringing another firefighter to Firehouse 51, as Damon Dayoub will have a recurring role in the remainder of Chicago Fire season 6.
Chicago Fire is adding another new firefighter to its roster.
Damon Dayoub has been cast as Jake Cordova, whom Deadline describes as “a confident, rugged man’s man [of a] firefighter.” He’s billed as a recurring guest star with a multiple episode arc in the rest of the current season.
No details were given on when Dayoub’s first episode will be, or how Cordova comes to Firehouse 51.
The actor is best known for portraying Quincy Fisher on the Freeform sci-fi series Stitchers, which was recently cancelled after three seasons. His other credits include a three-episode role as Adam Eshel on CBS‘s NCIS, and installments of TNT’s The Last Ship and Rizzoli & Isles.

Jake Cordova is the second new firefighter that Chicago Fire has brought into the firehouse in two seasons.
Around the midpoint of last season, the show brought on Kamal Angelo Bolden as Jason Kannell, an old friend of Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) who joins the ranks at Firehouse 51 after a tragedy.
Bolden was cast with the possibility of becoming a series regular in Chicago Fire season 6, but that did not come to pass and Kannell hasn’t been seen since, with his departure being explained as the CFD transferring him elsewhere.
The report on Dayoub’s casting didn’t mention whether or not he could also be promoted (if Fire is even renewed for season 7, which hasn’t happened yet), but we’ll have to see if fans are interested in yet another new face turning up on the firehouse’s doorstep.
Damon Dayoub isn’t the only new actor who will be coming around when the series returns in two weeks. Kim Delaney (Army Wives, CSI: Miami) is Kelly Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) mother, who will come back into the picture presumably because of that cliffhanger.
