One Chicago teams who should be on The Amazing Race

4. Kevin Atwater and Kim Burgess, Chicago PD

One of our complaints when it comes to Chicago PD is there aren’t enough scenes of Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) anymore. We miss watching these two work together, because they’re so clearly the most awesome BFF’s, so having them as a team on The Amazing Race would give us all the Atwater and Burgess goodness we could ever possibly want.

At least one team in each Amazing Race season is made up of best friends, and there are no better best friends in the One Chicago universe than Atwater and Burgess. They’re just a joy to watch as a unit, and they’ve been there for each other through so much. Even in Chicago PD season 5, as he struggled with trying to protect his family, who was there for Atwater? It was Burgess, and it was adorable.

Since Burgess and Atwater were partners on patrol, they’d know how to be partners on the show and work together in challenges. Burgess, with her ever-sunny disposition, would be the perfect cheerleader for Atwater whenever he had to do a Road Block like chasing frogs. She’d ensure that they never gave up.

Atwater would provide the hilarious quips for the camera, while both of them are so charming that they’d make allies out of other teams and passing bystanders easily. And when it comes to racing to the Pit Stop, they’d have a clear edge since Atwater is so good at chasing down suspects.
