Patti Murin’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical begins previews
Chicago Med’s Patti Murin is now officially on Broadway, as Frozen: The Broadway Musical begins previews today at New York’s St. James Theatre.
We’re sending our best wishes to Patti Murin, as the Chicago Med star takes the Broadway stage for the first time tonight when Frozen: The Broadway Musical starts previews.
Patti co-stars in Frozen: The Broadway Musical as Princess Anna, opposite Caissie Levy as Elsa. The production is based on the smash hit Disney film of the same name.
Previews begin at Broadway’s St. James Theatre tonight and the show’s formal opening night is March 22.
This is a huge project for Patti, whom One Chicago fans will recognize from playing the upbeat pathologist Dr. Nina Shore on Chicago Med. She’s been recurring on Chicago Med since season 1, and had a much bigger arc in season 2 when Nina began dating Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss).

But hopefully we won’t be seeing Nina around the hospital for a while, as Patti Murin is about to knock it out of the park portraying Anna. She came to One Chicago after lengthy experience in the theatre world, and so this role is her in her natural element.

It’s a side of her that we haven’t seen on the TV show, as she’ll get to show off her singing and dancing skills in addition to her well-established acting ability. Patti Murin is an incredibly well-rounded actress, but only part of that has been used on Med for obvious reasons, and Frozen is her chance to show off just how talented she is.
It’s also an incredibly hot ticket this spring, with seats going for as much as $600 on the resale market. So any Chicago Med fans who want to see Frozen shouldn’t waste any time and get your tickets ASAP!
