February flashback: Chicago PD season 2, episode 16
Three years ago, Chicago PD sent Antonio Dawson undercover in Chicago PD season 2, episode 16. Look back at the episode in our February Flashback.
With Chicago PD taking most of February off for the Winter Olympics, we’re rolling back the clock and revisiting the Chicago PD episodes that previously aired this month.
It was three years ago today that “What Put You On That Ledge” premiered, in which Chicago PD sent Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) on a dangerous undercover operation. Then again, isn’t every one of the show’s undercover operations dangerous?
Anyway, it was up to Antonio to find a Narcotics cop who had gone missing. The other officer had been working deep cover with a robbery crew, and everyone feared the worst.
Antonio knew one of the robbers from earlier in his career, so CPD brass asked him to contact the man again and re-ingratiate himself in order to close the case.

But of course, once Antonio got in, it wasn’t clear whether or not he’d be able to get out. The operation turned into a veritable rabbit hole where our favorite detective found himself pushed to the limit.
It wasn’t about just finding the missing cop, but also not blowing his cover and getting himself killed, and not having to do something he’d regret. And on a show that loves to play with grey areas, Chicago PD really took this premise as far as it could.

Back at the District, “What Puts You On That Ledge” also saw Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Sean Roman (Brian Geraghty) get more than they asked for when dealing with a squatter. But really, their problems paled in comparison to what we saw Antonio have to face undercover:
Chicago PD season 2, episode 16 is also notable for who else was in the cast. This was the first time fans saw Sam Hunt as Mouse, replacing the deceased Sheldon Jin (Archie Kao) as the unit’s tech guy.
And another guest star was Peter Jacobson, who was just seen as the defense attorney who was defending Rafael Barba in Dick Wolf‘s Law & Order: SVU. Aside from playing Dworkin, you will also know him from his roles as Proxy Snyder in Colony, Taub on House, and the current boss of the FBI on The Americans.
“What Puts You On That Ledge” was a strong episode for Jon Seda, but it wouldn’t be the last time that Antonio Dawson was run through the wringer by Chicago PD!
