Chicago PD has Intelligence hunting a vigilante this week, but how much? Look ahead to tonight’s episode with our Chicago PD season 5, episode 15 preview.

When Chicago PD returns tonight, it’ll be dealing with a case of the week that might also be a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Season 5, Episode 15 is called “Sisterhood” and involves the Intelligence Unit taking on someone who’s taken the law into their own hands.

That’s certainly something every character on this show knows something about, so will that be a factor in how the case unfolds?

It would certainly make things interesting if that were the case but it depends on how complex an episode we’re going to get.

Intelligence is called in when someone starts killing rapists, leaving it up to Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and the team to stop them before their body count gets too high.

But let’s be real here, Chicago PD fans. Intelligence takes the law into their own hands every week. They are a walking version of “the ends justify the means,” with so many questionable decisions that it’s a bit of a wonder it’s taken until Chicago PD season 5 for them to be seriously investigated.

We’re not suggesting that “Sisterhood” means they’re just going to let a murderer run free in Chicago, but they’ll definitely understand where this person is coming from, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they cut them some slack.

After all, let us remind you that just this season, Voight enabled the murder of a killer Intelligence couldn’t catch in the episode “Promise.” Remember this moment?

The other part of Chicago PD season 5, episode 15 that has us intrigued is that it’s making a point of tying back to “Last Minute Resistance.” The best episode of season 4, it involved Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) finding out her sister had been assaulted.

So it makes sense that in “Sisterhood,” Burgess would find herself questioning if justice for her sister had really been found. That’s a nice bit of continuity, but at the same time if the show is going to bring that fantastic episode back up again, that immediately raises the bar pretty high for this one.

It’d be disappointing if whatever happens with Burgess this week ended up looking like a pale epilogue to what happened in that outstanding installment. Conversely, if the writers really do well in tying the two together, we could get some much-needed closure, too.

Keep in mind that we’ve not seen Nicole since her assault, and the only information we got about how she was doing was a deleted scene that’s now not even available on the Chicago PD YouTube channel anymore. So this could be a great opportunity to check up on all involved, if the episode has the time or inclination.

There’s a lot of potential in “Sisterhood” depending on how deep the episode wants to dive. If it just tells a straight-up revenge story, it might not be that interesting. But if it actually examines the grey area Intelligence lives in, and particularly how it affects Burgess, this could be one of the best episodes of the season.
