How did Chicago PD season 5 and Chicago Fire season 6 fare in the ratings this week? Find out in the One Chicago Ratings Report.

Another week in the One Chicago season has gone by, so it’s time for another edition of the One Chicago Ratings Report.

With only two of three shows on this week, and only one of those actually showing a new episode, it’s a light week in TV ratings but we’re going to break the numbers down for you nonetheless.

Chicago PD was the sole new episode on Wednesday, and “Breaking Point” drew 6.55 million live viewers.

That led to another impressive result, making Chicago PD the second most-watched broadcast TV show on Wednesday behind only CBS‘s Survivor: Ghost Island.

Among the coveted adults 18-49 demographic, the Intelligence Unit cornered a 1.2 share, which was good enough for fourth place behind Survivor, FOX‘s 9-1-1 and NBC‘s own Law & Order: SVU.

When it comes to NBC shows, though, PD remains the undisputed champion. It outdrew SVU by more than a half million viewers, and The Blacklist was a distant third with more than a million less eyeballs than Voight and company.

On Thursday, Chicago Fire aired a rerun of this season’s fourth episode “A Breaking Point” so that NBC can air a two-hour event next week.

As such the numbers were down, as reruns always rate lower than new episodes. The repeat had 3.73 million live viewers.

But that was still more than the new episodes of NBC’s freshman comedies A.P. Bio and Champions that were on earlier Thursday night. Those shows had 3.03 and 2.99 million live eyeballs, respectively.

And it wasn’t far behind the new season finale of ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder, which pulled in 4.04 million audience members. So if you’re a One Chicago fan, you have to feel good about how an old episode of Chicago Fire can do almost as well as a new episode of its direct competition.

The “but” here is that every scripted show suffered a bit on Thursday because of CBS’s coverage of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, but regardless, it wasn’t a bad week for One Chicago even with one repeat and one preemption. Maybe it’s time for a celebration?
