How did Chicago Med season 3 and Chicago Fire season 6 fare in the ratings this week? Find out in the One Chicago Ratings Report.

Another week in the One Chicago season has gone by, so it’s time for another edition of the One Chicago Ratings Report.

Only two of the three shows were new this week, while one got a breather to allow the others to catch up.

Tuesday’s Chicago Med episode “The Parent Trap” recorded 6.06 million live viewers. That is a drop for the second week in a row, down from last week‘s 6.21 million and from 6.44 the week before that.

As a result, the series dropped sharply in both rankings among broadcast TV shows. It fell from sixth place to eighth in total viewers, and from third place to a tie for sixth among adult viewers aged 18-49.

Med was still the most-watched series in the Tuesday 10 p.m. hour, but it’s certainly seen a few better weeks this season.

Chicago PD had the week off, with NBC airing a rerun on Wednesday that still brought in 3.63 million eyes. But that did mean PD lost the chance to improve on its major audience gain from last week.

Here’s where things get really interesting: we were up against it on Thursday, when Chicago Fire had a crowded night to deal with.

As we’ve seen multiple times this season, live sports coverage takes a large chunk of eyeballs away from broadcast TV, and that was the case again this week.

The Fire episode “The Strongest Among Us” brought in 5.41 million live audience members. It’s a rise from last week’s 5.24 million, which is good—but having more high-profile programs airing earlier in the night impacted its rankings.

Namely, FOX‘s coverage of the 2018 NFL Draft stole some of its key demographic, even though the two programs didn’t air opposite each other.

Our heroes were sixth in total viewers on Thursday and seventh among adults 18-49, which is up one spot in the former and down one in the latter.

Next: Catch up with this week's Chicago Fire

All in all, it was a slow week for One Chicago. Neither the Chicago Med ratings or the Chicago Fire ratings were what we’d like them to be, but there’s still one more month of the season ahead!
