Law and Order SVU season 19, episode 21 preview: Guardian
Peter Stone returns to Law and Order SVU this week, so what’s his next case? Look ahead to tonight’s episode with our SVU season 19, episode 21 preview.
Peter Stone is back on the case in this week’s Law and Order SVU episode, and it’s going to keep him busy.
After Philip Winchester‘s character wasn’t in last week’s episode, it’s back to business as usual in “Guardian.” But we’re pretty sure that Wednesday’s case is going to give him another headache.
The episode centers on Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutuola (Ice-T) as he returns to the neighborhood he was raised in, to help a man who claims his sister was gang raped.
It should be a great episode to watch, as SVU fans know just how strong Ice-T’s performances are; he’s come to be a rock for the show over the years, and always comes up with something to hook the audience.

But as was demonstrated at the start of the season, Fin does not always play by the rules. And you know who’s all about the rules? Peter Stone.
We fully expect a scene in “Guardian” where Fin does something and Stone expresses his disbelief and/or reminds him about the legal ramifications of that thing he’s done or wants to do.
Of course, he’s not going to be able to stop him (would you want to pick a fight with Ice-T?) but it’ll happen, and it will be interesting to see if however Fin handles the case has any impact on whether or not Stone is able to prosecute it.

After all, the “case blows up because of the behavior of one of the detectives involved” thing already happened once this season, thanks to former SVU detective turned SA’s investigator Brian Cassidy. So we’re not in uncharted territory here.
But the strength of SVU season 19 has been on Stone butting heads with the squad, and how both sides handle that conflict, and how they’re both growing from it. So this could be a growing opportunity again.
If nothing else, it will be great for Chicago Justice fans to see Peter back after he wasn’t needed last week. Philip Winchester’s absence was most definitely felt, and he’ll leave an impact again this week.
