Chicago Fire’s Warren Christie returns to NBC with new series
Former Chicago Fire cast member Warren Christie will be back on NBC next season as he stars in the network’s new drama series The Village.
Chicago Fire alum Warren Christie is coming back to NBC, as the network picked up his drama pilot The Village for a first season on Tuesday.
The Village tells the stories of the people who reside in a Brooklyn apartment building. Christie plays the character of Nick, described as “an ex-special forces operative who lost his leg while on tour.
“He returns to Manhattan to a welcoming community that constantly thanks him for his service, which he finds uncomfortable. He’s just trying to adjust back to a normal life.”
Warren Christie recurred during Chicago Fire season 3 as Scott Rice, an old friend of Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) who briefly served with Firehouse 51.

His character was introduced with the option to become a series regular, but that option didn’t materialize and Rice hasn’t been seen since.
But Christie has kept busy after Chicago Fire. He has had a recurring role on FOX‘s The Resident this season as Dr. Jude Silva, an old friend and romantic rival of the show’s main character. You can check out our interview with him about that role here.
His last series regular role was on Eyewitness, a thriller on NBC’s sister channel USA. He also starred as Cameron Hicks on Alphas, a sci-fi series that was on another NBCUniversal channel, SyFy.

The Village has two more connections to the One Chicago and Dick Wolf world: it also stars Lorraine Toussaint (who reprised her Law & Order role as Shambala Green in the backdoor pilot for Chicago Justice) and Michaela McManus (who was once a series regular on Law & Order: SVU).
But for One Chicago fans, it will be worth tuning into the new series for Warren Christie. He’s one of the actors who got away from the One Chicago franchise, and his role as Scott Rice didn’t have the chance to show us everything that he can do. He’s a real star who hasn’t quite reached the level he should, and his performance alone will make this show worth your time.
If you’ve seen him on other shows like Motive or Eyewitness, you know how versatile he is and the description of his role in The Village sounds like something he can sink his teeth into. Plus, since it is an NBC show, maybe he can do what Sarah Shahi is doing now and finagle a return to Fire next season so we can learn what Rice has been up to!
Congratulations to Warren Christie on his new series and we’ll keep you posted on all of the details about when and how you can watch it.
