Dick Wolf, Mariska Hargitay to feature on Paley Center panel

Dick Wolf and Law and Order SVU star Mariska Hargitay will be the featured guests on the next Paley Center for Media panel on June 4.

Monday will see Dick Wolf and SVU producer-star Mariska Hargitay as the guests of honor at the next Paley Center for Media live event in Los Angeles.

Entitled “Creating Great Characters: Dick Wolf and Mariska Hargitay In Conversation,” the event will discuss Hargitay’s portrayal of Lieutenant Olivia Benson on Wolf’s Law and Order: SVU—in particular, her work in the recently concluded SVU season 19.

Making the evening even more interesting is that NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt is personally moderating the event.

Olivia Benson is only one of the many characters from the Law and Order and One Chicago franchises Wolf created for NBC, but she’s one of the best known. Mariska Hargitay is the only series regular in either franchise to win an Emmy Award for their role, and has been nominated eight times.

She also has an executive producer credit on SVU, which was renewed for a record-tying 20th season last month.

Dick Wolf has participated in numerous Paley Center events. The Los Angeles venue hosted a panel for Law and Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders before the show’s premiere last fall, and also honored Wolf at a separate event featuring cast members from SVU and the One Chicago franchise back in 2016.
