Chicago Med’s Patti Murin performed with the Frozen cast at the 2018 Tony Awards. Watch the performance and find out if Frozen won Best Musical.

Sunday’s Tony Awards featured a performance by the cast of Broadway’s Frozen, including Chicago Med fan favorite Patti Murin. If you missed it, you can watch the Tony Awards live performance here.

Patti and her Frozen castmates treated the Tony Awards audience to “For The First Time In Forever,” before her co-star Caissie Levy re-took the stage alone to deliver a portion of the smash hit song “Let It Go.”

The performance was in celebration of the production’s nomination for Best Musical, which was one of three Tony nominations it received after opening earlier this year.

Though the Frozen performance at the Tony Awards received plenty of applause from the packed house at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, that was the only accolade that the Disney musical had on Sunday.

It lost the Best Musical award to The Band’s Visit, which swept most of the major categories at the 2018 Tony Awards, winning that top trophy and nine others.

It was also up for Best Book of a Musical (for Jennifer Lee) and Best Original Score Written For The Theatre (for Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez) but both of those were won by The Band’s Visit as well.

Given that show’s success on the evening, it wasn’t a huge shock that Frozen did not win Best Musical at the Tony Awards. But the cast came out and delivered a gangbusters performance that was well worthy of Broadway’s biggest night.

If you want to see Patti Murin and her talented colleagues in person this summer, tickets are still on sale here.
