Chicago Fire alum Eric Mabius has a new Hallmark movie
Chicago Fire actor Eric Mabius stars in a new Hallmark movie this weekend, and it’s very different from his recurring role in Chicago Fire seasons 3 and 4.
One Chicago fans know Eric Mabius as Jack Nesbitt, the villainous strip club owner from the third season of Chicago Fire. But this Sunday, he’s headlining a Hallmark movie that will probably take many Fire fans by surprise.
Mabius stars as Oliver O’Toole in Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To The Altar, which premieres July 15 at 9 p.m. on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries cable network.
It’s the latest in the series of Signed, Sealed, Delivered films, which were created by Touched By An Angel creator Martha Williamson.
They focus on a crew of United States Postal Service workers who investigate the stories behind mail that hasn’t been delivered, often solving problems and reuniting loved ones along the way.

In To The Altar, Oliver helps out with the wedding of his colleagues Rita (Crystal Lowe) and Norman (Geoff Gustafson). His father Joe O’Toole is also introduced, as played by acting legend Gregory Harrison.
This is the eleventh Signed, Sealed, Delivered film; the first one aired in 2013, two years before audiences saw Eric Mabius play Jack Nesbitt on Chicago Fire.
Hallmark also tried to turn the idea into a weekly TV series, but that only lasted one season in 2014.

It’s a long-standing franchise for Hallmark, and with good reason, particularly the performances from Eric Mabius and actress Kristin Booth, who plays his love interest Shane.
It also couldn’t be more different from the bad things Mabius got into on Chicago Fire, which ought to entertain any One Chicago fans looking for something to watch this weekend. Watch the movie trailer below to see what we mean:
Eric Mabius made his Chicago Fire debut in the season 3 episode “Forgive You Anything” and was in seven episodes. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) went undercover to expose that Nesbitt’s strip club was also ground zero for a human trafficking operation.
In season 4’s second episode “A Taste of Panama City,” things came to a head as Nesbitt followed Casey and confronted him, pointing a gun at him before Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) arrived to help Casey and make sure Nesbitt went into the safe hands of the FBI.
None of those things will be in this movie. So if you want to see Eric Mabius in a good-guy role, or just want a nice, heartwarming TV-movie to spend your Sunday with, then find Hallmark Movies & Mysteries in your area by clicking here. Chances are you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
