When does FBI season 1 premiere? Find out when Dick Wolf’s FBI series is scheduled to have its season premiere this fall on CBS.

We now know when Dick Wolf‘s FBI series premiere is going to happen, and it’s a start date that might be amusing for One Chicago fans.

Wolf’s first series that isn’t airing on NBC since 1997 will start Tuesday, Sept. 25 on CBS, with a 9 p.m. time slot.

That means it won’t air opposite any of Wolf’s One Chicago shows, or his sole Law & Order series, Law & Order: SVU. We don’t know if Wolf, CBS or both planned it that way, but if not it’s definitely a great coincidence for Dick Wolf fans.

At the same time, the Tuesday time slot means FBI season 1 premieres ahead of the entire One Chicago franchise, which won’t start until Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Plus, the fact that it airs at 9 p.m. also matches up with the recently announced syndicated reruns of Chicago PD.

That means that while One Chicago may have been scaled down to one night a week this fall, Dick Wolf still has three nights of shows on TV. So he hasn’t lost any exposure on the primetime schedule, even with NBC condensing his biggest franchise.

FBI stars Missy Peregrym (Law & Order: SVU) and Jeremy Sisto (Law & Order) along with Zeeko Zaki and Ebonee Noel.

A fifth role, played by Law & Order: SVU alum Connie Nielsen, is being recast.

That’s a few familiar faces if you’re a Dick Wolf enthusiast, and with the show set in New York just like most of the Law & Order shows, it will certainly feel familiar but that might be a good thing as it tries to hook an audience this fall.

You can watch the FBI season 1 trailer below to learn more about the upcoming series. At least it isn’t going head to head with One Chicago or SVU, therefore preventing fans from having to make a choice of which Wolf property to watch live.

And the close scheduling could work in its favor, but will audiences follow him from NBC to CBS after more than a decade and a half of knowing all his shows are on NBC? We’ll find out starting on Sept. 25.
