Julie Berman’s Casual returns for fourth and final season
Chicago Med alum Julie Berman’s current show Casual is back on Hulu today, for what will be the Golden-Globe nominated comedy’s last season.
For Chicago Med fans looking for something to watch over the summer, former recurring guest star Julie Berman‘s comedy Casual has its season premiere today. You can watch the entire eight-episode season now on Hulu.
Casual focuses on therapist Valerie Meyers (Michaela Watkins, Trophy Wife), her daughter Laura (Tara Lynne Barr) and her brother Alex Cole (Tommy Dewey, Code Black) as they navigate their lives and loves.
Julie co-stars as Leia, Valerie’s perky—and slightly quirky—assistant.
In Casual season 4, several years have passed since the show’s third season, and many things have changed for her.

Leia is contently married to Valerie’s former one-night stand Leon (Nyasha Hatendi) and no longer works as her assistant; instead, she’s started her own therapy practice and is now sharing office space with her ex-boss.
It’s a new side of the character that Julie Berman gets to play, and by the end of the season premiere, fans will be intrigued to see where the new Leia goes next—which you can find out because the other seven episodes will also be available starting today.

This is also worth checking out because Casual season 4 will be the last season for the show.
After three previous seasons and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Comedy, Hulu has decided to end the series following these last eight episodes. So this will be your last chance to catch Julie Berman in a pretty great role. Get re-introduced to her character Leia in the video below:
The role is different from what Julie Berman played on Chicago Med. She recurred during the show’s first season as Dr. Sam Zanetti, the love interest for Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) before she left him to pursue a job opportunity at another hospital. But while Sam was more tough and certainly not as funny, Leia is just as entertaining to watch.
