Edie Falco’s performance as Leslie Abramson in Law and Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders has earned her an Emmy Award nomination.

One Chicago may have been shut out at the Emmys, but Dick Wolf‘s Law & Order franchise will be represented thanks to Edie Falco.

Falco’s portrayal of defense attorney Leslie Abramson earned her a nomination as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders.

She’ll be competing against Sarah Paulson (for American Horror Story), Michelle Dockery (for Godless), Jessica Biel (for The Sinner), Regina King (for Seven Seconds) and Laura Dern (for The Tale).

But Edie Falco might have to be the favorite here, if only because this is her 14th Emmy Award nomination and she’s already won four Emmys.

More from One Chicago Center

She earned her first in 1999 when she was named Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work as Carmela Soprano on HBO‘s The Sopranos. That role also earned her Emmy Awards in 2001 and 2003.

Falco was also named Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2010, for playing Jackie Peyton in Showtime‘s Nurse Jackie.

Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders is Edie Falco’s first Emmy nomination since 2015.

Her portrayal of Leslie Abramson was the strongest part of the series, which struggled in the ratings as it took over the Tuesdays at 10 p.m. time slot on NBC’s fall schedule and pushed Chicago Med back to midseason. So far, the network has not renewed True Crime for another season nor officially cancelled it.

But while the show may not have been a huge success, Falco did everything in her power to make it work, and she delivered on all counts. Just check out this scene:

Edie Falco is the second actor with Dick Wolf connections to get Emmy recognition in 2018. Brian Geraghty, who previously was a series regular on Chicago PD, is up for an Emmy Award as part of the ensemble for TNT’s The Alienist. Read more about that here.
